Questions and answers
How SetupSight works, in plain words. If your question is not here, write to us from the Support page in the app or at swiftandsuregroup@gmail.com.
Getting started
What does SetupSight do?
You describe your trading strategy once, in a conversation. SetupSight turns it into exact rules and then uses those same rules everywhere: it draws your setups on a live chart, scans the markets you watch and alerts you, backtests the rules over past prices, and keeps a journal of your trades. It is an analysis tool: it never places a trade and gives no advice.
How do I open an account?
Choose Sign up on the front page (or Make an account on the Log in page), type your email address and a password, and open the link we email you. A first name is optional. Every plan starts with 7 free days at the Pro limits; your card is taken at checkout and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
What do I do first?
Go to Strategies and choose Teach a new strategy. Describe how you trade as you would to a colleague. When the rules are ready, open the chart on a market you know and check that the drawings match what you would mark yourself. Then watch a market on the Alerts page.
Where is the getting-started checklist?
On Home. It lists the first steps in order and ticks each one off from your own records as you do it: teach a strategy, run the check-up, backtest it, choose the markets it watches, see it on the chart, set your risk per trade, journal a trade. Hide this checklist takes it off Home; the button at the bottom of Home brings it back, next to Take the quick tour. Each page also has a one-line tip; the ? beside the page title shows it again.
Which markets and timeframes are covered?
Forex pairs, US stocks and funds, crypto, gold, silver, oil and gas, on timeframes from 5 minutes to a week. The full list is in the app, in the market picker on the Chart and Alerts pages, and it grows over time. If a market you trade is missing, ask for it through Support.
Teaching it your strategy
How does teaching work?
It is a conversation. You write in your own words; the AI asks about anything it is unsure of, then proposes the rules and shows them to you as a plain-word checklist. Everything is saved as you go, so you can stop and pick up where you left off from the Teach page; the rules only become your strategy, and markets are only scanned for it, once you save it in the last step. You can also mark example setups on the chart: every set of rules the AI proposes is tested on them, and you see which ones the rules find. Then ask for a check-up: the AI runs the rules on a market and shows you the newest setups it found, so you can confirm they are the ones you meant.
Will it guess or change my strategy?
No. The rules are saved as structured, checked rules, not as the AI's memory of the chat. If part of what you describe cannot be written as a rule yet, the AI says so plainly instead of dropping it or inventing something. That part is saved with the strategy as a line to check by hand: every alert lists it for you to tick, the Chart page names it in a grey line under each setup, and the strategy's page has a button to ask SetupSight to add it (it sends only that line). You see every rule before it is saved and every drawing shows which rules put it there.
Can I change a strategy later?
Yes. Open the strategy and choose Change with the AI to describe the change, or edit the timeframe, targets and other settings by hand. Every save makes a new numbered version. Alerts, backtests and journal entries remember which version they used, and you can look at any earlier version.
What are the example patterns?
Textbook patterns such as a double bottom, a bull flag or a breakout and retest, written as rules in exactly the way your own strategies are. They show how the AI reads a chart; they are not tested for profit and are not trading advice. They are on the chart until you have a strategy of your own, and the Strategies page can always copy one into your account as a starting point that you then change. A copy is yours alone; the example itself never changes.
How many AI messages do I get?
Each plan gives a number of AI messages a month: Starter 40 a month, Pro 200 a month, Advanced 400 a month; the free trial has 60 of its own, enough to teach one strategy. One AI message is used by: each message you send while teaching (typed, or your answers to the AI's questions), sending your examples or check-up marks to the AI, saving an example or a wrong setup from the Chart page (the AI reads it at once), and each AI Chart Audit. Every button that uses one says so. Free, without AI messages: marking examples and check-ups, the chart, drawings and indicators, scanning and alerts, the journal, and backtests (they have their own hourly limit). The count starts again on the first of each month (UTC); Settings > Billing shows how many you have used.
The chart
What is drawn on the chart?
Pick a market and one of your strategies. Entry, target and stop loss are drawn as price lines, support and resistance levels are marked, and numbered dots show the candles that met each rule. Why this was drawn lists the rules behind every line, so you can see exactly how the result was reached.
Why is nothing drawn?
Usually because the rules are not met on the candles currently loaded, which is the normal case most of the time. The panel beside the chart lists each rule and whether it is met, so you can see what is still missing. If the data for a market has a gap or looks wrong, the chart says so instead of drawing on bad prices.
Are the prices live?
Yes. The chart shows live prices from our market data provider and brings itself up to date when you open it. The scanner uses the same candles, so what you see on the chart is what alerts are judged on.
Can I draw on the chart?
Yes. The drawing bar on the left of the chart is laid out like TradingView's, in groups: cursors; trend lines (trend, ray, info line, extended line, trend angle, horizontal and vertical lines, cross line, parallel, flat and disjoint channels); Fibonacci (retracement, extension, channel, time zone); patterns (XABCD, ABCD, head and shoulders, triangle, Elliott impulse and correction waves: click the turning points in turn and the tags show the letters and how far each move goes against the one before); positions and measuring (long and short positions, forecast, price, date and date-and-price ranges); shapes (rectangle, rotated rectangle, circle, ellipse, triangle, arc, path, arrow, arrow marks); and annotations (text, note, price label, callout, pin). Each group's button shows the tool you last took from it; the small arrow beside it opens the whole group. Pick a tool, then click the chart (or drag from one point to the other); the line above the chart says what the tool needs. A Fibonacci works as on TradingView: drag from the start of the move to its end, and 1 is where you start, 0 where you let go. A path takes a click per point; double-click the last one or press Enter to finish. Click a drawing to select it: drag its handles or its body to move it, or use the small bar that appears over it. Up to 100 drawings per market are saved to your account and shown on every chart of that market (5 minutes to a week) next time. They snap to candles, so a drawing is a record of candle times and prices rather than a picture. On a phone, the pencil button on the chart opens the same groups as a list.
What do the cursors, Measure, the magnet and Keep drawing mode do?
The top button of the drawing bar is the cursor: Cross shows the crosshair's lines, Arrow hides them, and Eraser removes any drawing you click (Escape puts it down). At the bottom of the bar: Measure shows the price change, percent, candles and time between two points you click, until your next click, and is never saved. The magnet decides where a point lands: off, exactly where you click; weak (the usual setting), a point near a candle's open, high, low or close snaps to it; strong, always the nearest of those four. Keep drawing mode leaves the tool in your hand after each drawing, so you can draw several in a row; off, the cursor comes back after each one, as on TradingView. The magnet and Keep drawing mode are remembered on this device. Under them, Lock all, Hide all and Remove all act on every drawing of the market at once, on all its charts: Lock all stops them being dragged (press again to unlock), Hide all keeps them out of sight (press again to show them), and Remove all asks first, because it cannot be undone.
How do I change a drawing's colour or settings?
Click the drawing. A small bar appears over it with its colour (TradingView's palette and an opacity slider), line width, line style (solid, dashed, dotted), a settings button, lock, hide and remove. Every pick applies at once. Settings opens a window with four tabs: Style (also extend left or right, the fill, the name and price tags, a Fibonacci's levels), Text (the name and the note), Coordinates (the price and candle of each point, which you can type) and Visibility (which of the market's charts show it). OK keeps the changes, Cancel puts everything back. Locked drawings can be clicked but not dragged; hidden ones are counted in the line above the chart, where Show brings them back. A new drawing takes the colour and style you last used for that tool. The AI's own lines stay green, red and grey so they are never mistaken for yours.
Can the AI learn from what I draw?
Yes. Pick one of your own strategies above the chart, draw the setup (a zone, a trend line, a Fibonacci), zoom so it is all on screen and press Save as example in the Strategy box at the bottom of the page. A card shows exactly what is sent: the candles on your screen and your drawings as candle times and prices, never a picture. The example is kept with the strategy (its page lists them, with Remove). After a save, the AI works on all your unsent examples in the background and a proposal card appears in the Strategy box with the change in its words and its effect, measured by the rule engine (how many of your examples it finds, how many earlier setups it still finds). Accept saves it as the next version; Not now keeps the current rules. Nothing changes until you accept. Under a drawn setup, the box Is this setup wrong? Tell the AI why sends the same kind of example, with your note. You can also drag the strategy's own lines (entry, stop, target, a level) to where you think they belong: the move shows on your screen only, the rules and the alerts keep the engine's prices, and Send to the AI as an example turns the move into an example the same way.
Can I add indicators?
Yes. The Indicators button above the chart adds moving averages (EMA, SMA, WMA), Bollinger Bands, Keltner and Donchian Channels, Supertrend, Ichimoku and pivot points over the candles, and RSI, MACD, stochastic, ADX and ATR in panes under them, with any settings a rule may use. They are worked out by the same engine that reads your rules, so an EMA 50 on the chart is exactly the EMA 50 a rule sees, and every one of them can be used in a strategy. Open Indicators (or press / on the Chart page): click a name to add it with its usual settings, use Settings next to it for your own, or type it with its settings, for example "50 ema" or "bb 20 2", and press Enter. Volume and VWAP are not there yet: our price data has no volume. Your choice is remembered on this device, not in your account. While you teach a strategy, its charts have their own Indicators button, and the AI puts the lines your strategy uses on them for you: just ask it.
Alerts
How do alerts work?
On the Alerts page you watch a market on a timeframe with one of your strategies. The scanner runs around the clock and checks each watch when a candle closes. When your rules are met it saves an alert with the candle it fired on and the rules that were met, and you can open it on the chart as it was.
How am I told?
Alerts appear on the Alerts page and the bell in the menu. Switch on browser notifications in Settings to be told on your computer or phone even when the site is not open. Alert emails start once the site has its own email address; until then alerts show in the site and the browser.
What are early alerts?
An early alert tells you about a setup that is still forming: every step but the last is met, and the candle that would complete it has not closed yet, so you can get ready. Switch them on per watch. The normal alert still comes when the setup completes.
How many markets can I watch?
By plan: Starter 2 markets, Pro 10 markets, Advanced every market. On a market you watch, any of your strategies can alert you, on any timeframe it runs on: adding another strategy to a market you already watch does not use another market.
Will I get the same alert twice?
No. Each alert is unique to you, the strategy version, the market, the timeframe and the candle, so a setup is reported once. If the price data for a market has a problem, the scanner holds the alert back and shows a warning rather than alerting you on bad data.
Backtests
What does a backtest show?
It runs your rules over past candles with the same engine the chart and the scanner use, and reports the trades it would have found: wins and losses, win rate, the total and average result in R, trades still open or unclear, and each trade on its own. Spread and slippage are included, and a trade is only judged on candles that came before it: the backtest never looks ahead.
Why does it warn about too few trades?
Numbers from a handful of trades mean little. When a backtest finds fewer than 30 trades it says so, so you do not read too much into the result. Try a longer history, a lower timeframe or more markets.
How many backtests can I run?
By plan, per hour: Starter 5 backtests, Pro 30 backtests, Advanced 60 backtests. Past results do not predict future results.
The journal and AI Chart Audit
What goes in the journal?
The trades you take. You can start an entry from an alert, so the strategy version, market, candle and chart come with it, or add one by hand. Each entry keeps your notes, the outcome and the chart as it was, and the journal adds the results up for you.
How do I read the journal calendar and the dashboard?
The Journal opens on a month calendar: each day shows its result and number of trades (green when it ended up, red when it ended down), each week has its total, and the month's total sits above. Use Previous and Next to see earlier months, and pick a day to list its trades. A trade counts on the day you took it, in your time zone. Home has the full dashboard for the period you choose: net result, win rate, profit factor, average win and loss, the equity curve, the result per day, results by market and by strategy, and observations from your own trades.
What is the weekly AI review on Home?
Every Monday (in your time zone) the AI writes 2 or 3 short observations about your trading account, built only on numbers SetupSight counted: your journal's closed trades of the last 90 days and your saved backtests. Every number it writes is checked against those counts before it is shown, and anything that reads as advice or a promise is left out. It starts once the account has 10 closed trades in the last 90 days, or once you save a backtest, and it is written the first time you open Home that week. It does not use your AI messages. These are observations, not advice: small groups of trades can differ by chance.
What is the AI Chart Audit?
Drag a picture of a price chart into the box (or choose one) and pick a strategy. The AI gives its opinion on whether a setup of that strategy is on the picture (likely, possible, unlikely, or unreadable), and draws what it can make out on your picture: entry, stop and target lines, support and resistance, trend and pattern lines, and where each step of the strategy happens. Open it full screen to look closer. It is an opinion from a picture, not a check on real candles, and it counts as one of your daily AI messages. A clear picture of the price chart with its price scale works best.
Your account and privacy
Who can see my strategy?
Only you. Your strategies, alerts, journal and backtests belong to your account and are locked to it in the database itself, not only on the pages. No other user can ever see them. SetupSight staff can look at an account (read only) to help with support or to stop misuse; they cannot change anything in it and every look is logged. Your teaching conversation is sent to the AI provider under commercial terms that do not allow it to be used for training.
How do I make my login safer?
Use a long password that you use nowhere else. Log in attempts are limited, and a forgotten password is reset through a link sent to your email address.
Can I get a copy of my data, or delete my account?
Yes, both in Settings under Your data. Download my data gives you one readable file with your strategies and every version, alerts, journal, backtests, teaching conversations and settings. Delete my account removes the account with everything in it at once and for good; a running plan ends that day. Billing records stay with the payment provider as long as tax law requires. The privacy page has the details.
Plans and billing
Where do I change or cancel my plan?
Settings > Billing. An upgrade applies at once; a downgrade or cancellation applies at the end of the period you have paid for, and you keep using the site until then. There are no refunds for the unused part of a period, except where the law requires one.
Who takes the payment?
Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle keeps your card details, adds tax where it applies and sends the invoice. SetupSight never sees your card number. The plans and prices are on the pricing page.
What happens when I reach a limit?
The site tells you. Nothing you have saved is touched: your strategies, alerts and journal stay as they are. You can stop watching a market, wait for the monthly or hourly count to reset, or move to a bigger plan in Settings > Billing.
When something looks wrong
A drawing or alert does not match what I meant.
Open the strategy and read the checklist: the rules there are exactly what the site runs. If a rule is not what you meant, change it with the AI or by hand and the next alert uses the new version. If the rules are right but the result still looks wrong to you, send it through Support with the market, timeframe and time, and we look at it. Accuracy is the thing we care most about.
Is the scanner running?
The public status page shows whether the website, the scanner, market data, the AI and backtests are working right now, and lists what changed on the site. Signed in, the Alerts page has a scanner panel too, with when the scanner last checked in. If it has not checked in for a while, alerts are delayed until it is back; nothing is lost, because alerts are judged on the candles themselves.
How do I reach you?
From the Support page in the app, where only you and the team can read your messages, or by email at swiftandsuregroup@gmail.com. The answer comes by email to your account's address.
